I was born in Tokyo, Japan, 1950. When I was a kid I used to watch Western TV dramas
made in USA, such as Rifle Man, Raramie Ranch, Rawhide, Mr. Ed, Flicker and so on.
They were very popular in Japan at that time, good old days.......
When I was 40 years old, I happened to find leaflets saying,
"Why don't you try horse riding!" at a book store, it reminded me of my old dreams,
where I took one and soon gave them a call to book my first ride,
since then I have been enjoying dressage, jumping, hacking and endurance ride.

Japan consists of four main islands, Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa, from north (sub-arctic zone) to south (sub-tropical zone), we have snow almost any part except Okinawa, of course much snow in northern part of Honshu and Hokkaido. In east Hokkaido, Jan 2004, we had so much snow and snow, it made a record.
It's terribly cold in mid-winter in Hokkaido, it goes to minus 30 degree centigrade sometimes. However, though we have rainy season from June to early July, there are no rainy season in Hokkaido. Though winter is good, June, July, August, of course, Autumn in Hokkaido is beautiful. If you are lucky, you can see bears. I lived in east Hokkaido four years when I was young.
Tsubetsu is a local town in east Hokkaido. I happened to visit Tsubetsu Horse trekking, Nov 2000, which is a local organization established in 1996. Now (Feb 2006) it consists of around 30 horse loving people and 25 horses and ponies. They enjoy trekking and endurance ride. Though I live in Tokyo, I am a member of this circle. I set up the web site "Tsubetsu Horse trekking" on behalf of them, December 2000, since then I have been a manager of this site.
By the way, you like Onsen?

Besides horses, there is one thing unforgettable for our generation, it's an electric guitar, we call it "ereki" in Japanese.
Speaking of Electric guitar music, it's the Ventures. Though The Beatles is great and I like them, for us, The Ventures is No.1. One day,
April 2004, Sachiko (my wife) told me, "I have found a very good news for you. A The Ventures' lovers are holding a live tonight." I used to enjoy playing an electric guitar when I was a junior high school student.
Since then, almost 40 years has passed. Well, we enjoyed the live that night. That reminded me of my passion for electric guitar, now I have been visiting the saloon, Papa-Rock, almost once a week.
On 7th Aug, 2004, I stood on a stage and played anyway, I was very nervous.(--;
