River Touring : The River Shimanto

The Shimanto, in Kochi Shikoku, is one of the most beatiful rivers in Japan. We have been to the river 4-5 times for river touring by Kayakk. We start at Tosa-Showa and finish at the mouth of the river, Shimoda, the total distance is around 75km. As we go slowly enjoying watching and listening to birds, drinking beer on and off the kayakk, fishing, catching shrimps, chatting with local people, cooking, camping and so on, it usually takes 4-5 days.
